well first, am not gonna spend 1,300 for dual 5970's, its between those 2, the monitor that am currently gonna buy is a 1920X1080 HD, between both graphic card what would give me less lagg, smooth game play, basically overall better gaming performance's? and is it a big difference?
For 1920 res, a single 5870 will suffice for all games.

Yeah, suffice, but if you wanna play every single game on the planet with EXTREEME graphics, the 5970 is freaking awesome. If you have the doe. If not, i recommend 4890 or the 5870

Don't buy right now because the price will drop after Fermi launches, which is soon.

lol Fermi better not, need to keep prices down. When 4870x2 came out, I bought it @ $500. Now 5970 costs $700.

Why on earth would you want that to happen?

If Fermi fails, then ATI has no incentive to make a better card... which is what you want... so you're hoping against self-interest, which makes very little sense to me.

I got a 5850 and run 1920 res just fine. It's a big card but the 5970 is an inch longer.

Also depends on your mobo, mine is crossfire compatible, but the first card slot is pci-e x16, the second is pci-e x 4. (in which case I'd only get a forth of the bandwidth from card 2), so one faster card is better than two with a limited 2nd.
