Graphics card driver Hi. I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the Drivers folder, but anyway.. today for the first (maybe second) time ever, my graphics card stopped responding. I decided to check NVIDIA's site to see if there was a new driver for it. Turned out, there was one released just yesterday (196.21). I downloaded it and everything. But, I wanted to know how to fully uninstall the last driver I had (195.62). I didn't wanna risk uninstalling it first, then going to install the new one cuz my monitor might not work! (since I have it attached by HDMI to my graphics card). But anyway, I guess my real question is should I uninstall the previous one fully? If so, how? In C:, in the NVIDIA folder, in the Display Driver folder, there's two folders - 195.62 and 196.21. Obviously I can easily just delete the first one. But I was wondering if there's a specific way to uninstall it fully. Thanks. | My System Specs |

You could use Driver sweeper to remove the old one, But if your not having any problems you could just leave it there in case you need to go back to the older one. http://www.sevenforums.com/software/...tml#post410325 | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq sr5410f case OS Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1 CPU AMD X2 4450E @ 2.3 ghz Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Memory 4.0 g Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT , 512mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays auria eq2367 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard logitech wave cordless Mouse logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse PSU 250 watts Case Compaq Cooling couple fans Hard Drives 1 tb Hitachi HDT721010SLA scsi, 500 gb external Internet Speed comcast hi speed 19 dn 8 up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser IE10 Other Info Laptop specs: HP g7-1365dx /

Thanks for that. I was wondering if there was a way to uninstall it without using third party software. I've done it for my printer by doing what was said here: How to Completely Remove Windows Vista/Windows 7 Printer Drivers | eHow.com | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Technology/G31M-ES2L Memory 4GB (2xCorsair XMS2 Xtreme Performance DDR2 CM2X2048-6400C5) Graphics Card NVIDIA BFG GeForce GTX 260 - Driver Version 306.97 Sound Card High Definition Audio Device - Logitech Z623 Monitor(s) Displays Overlord Tempest X270OC 27" Dual-link DVI | Acer H243H 24" Screen Resolution 2560 x 1440@120hz- S-IPS Dual Link DVI | 1920 x 1080 TN HDMI Keyboard PS/2 Gateway P/N: KB-0447, Model Number KB-2961, Version: CV Mouse Logitech Wireless Mouse M305 PSU OCZ StealthXStream 500W Case XION Solaris (Black Case, Green LED) Cooling Fans? That's a handy tip there.
As for the other drivers, I've got 4 in my nvidia folder. I have deleted a couple before but just by deleting those folders. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq sr5410f case OS Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1 CPU AMD X2 4450E @ 2.3 ghz Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Memory 4.0 g Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT , 512mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays auria eq2367 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard logitech wave cordless Mouse logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse PSU 250 watts Case Compaq Cooling couple fans Hard Drives 1 tb Hitachi HDT721010SLA scsi, 500 gb external Internet Speed comcast hi speed 19 dn 8 up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser IE10 Other Info Laptop specs: HP g7-1365dx /

I have an ATI graphics card in my laptop, and on the drivers website it shows a newer driver version available to download for it, but how do I install it? Do I just open the setup file and install normally to update it to the newer version, or do I do it through device manager? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer 5552-7668 OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit CPU 2.2 GHz Quad Core Processor Memory 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4250 Monitor(s) Displays 52" 120 Hz Full HD LCD HDTV Screen Resolution 1920x1080p Keyboard logitech cordless desktop mx 5500 Mouse logitech cordless desktop mx 5500 Hard Drives 640GB 5400 RPM (internal)
