Video Card Question

Hi.

I currently have a MSI (Micro-Star International) Nvidia Geforce N9400GT Graphics Card 512MB DDR2 HDMI Ready with 1080P HD Display Support.
Here is a link of the card (MSI Microstar Geforce 9400GT 512MB PCI Express x16 2.0 Video Card in Computer Video Cards at JR.com)

I was told this card only passes video with the HDMI and that for audio I would have to connect another cable to my sound system.

I've been searching around the net to see if this card indeed does not have audio from the HDMI but I cant find it anywhere.

I have been thinkinf of buying this card (Amazon.com: XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD577AZNFC: ZipZoomFly) to replace the one I have because of this but want to be sure before I make the purchase

Can anyone confirm this for me please????
Please help and Thanks

And don't pay $185 for it, go here POWERCOLOR AX5770 1GBD5-PPG Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card $135 - SlickDeals.net Forums and get it for $135, which is about what it should cost.

You were told a right and a wrong. Wrong in that you don't need to connect a cable to your sound system, you need to use the S/PDIF cable that should have come with your video card and connect it to the S/PDIF header on the video card and the S/PDIF header on your sound card (either onboard or actual card).

Right in that it does pass through audio over HDMI when the above cable is connected. Unless you card is an oddball from MSI from what I can see they all have the S/PDIF header on them, and they all came with that cable. Or at least the three here do,

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Video Cards & Video Devices,Desktop Graphics / Video Cards,MSI,GeForce 9 series,GeForce 9400 GT

If all you are looking for for is audio over HDMI then you shouldn't have to spend anything, if you're looking for a card that will slap that 9400 GT every which way from Sunday go for that 5770.

Hi.
SO i bought the 5770 ATI Card.
All went well, when I proceeded to watch a movie on my computer through my Surround Sound system (Onkyo HT-S7200) i dont know what happened but I'm starting to hear this pop, crackle once in a while during the movie.
This had not happened before.
What is wrong??
