Please help me decide on a new Graphics Card

Admittedly, I know nothing about graphics cards but have narrowed it down to a few. Can you please help me decide and give me reasons why you have chosen the one you have.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Asus Geforce GTS250 (738Mhz), 1GB DDR3 (2.0Ghz), PCI-E 2.0, Fan Cooled, DVI, HDCP, HDMI PCI

    Asus Geforce 9800GT (600Mhz), 1GB DDR3 (1.8Ghz), PCI-E 2.0, Glaciator Fansink, DVI, HDCP, HDMI

    Gigabyte GeForce GTS250 (765Mhz), 1GB DDR3 (2200Mhz), PCI-E 2.0, Exhaust Cooling, DVI, HDTV, HDCP (Overclocked)

Not big into gaming but use a fair bit of multimedia including photo and video editing.

I figured we would be getting around to this shorty...

First off Nina...can you also tell us the maximum you will pay (in case we find another alternative to the ones above)

Max $200 but remember I am in Australia and wont buy from OS (more time frame than anything) so what we can get here may be vastly different from the US price wise.

You know me too well already Zidane

Max $200...have to get it somewhere in Australia...

I have a challenge to find a card better than the ones above! Probably not possible and may not be necessary...

If I was to recommend one right now...it would be the GeForce GTS250

    Why?

More horsepower to the ASUS (2.2GHz vs 2GHz) and the GTS series is a step up from the 9 series

Ok, cool. Orpheous recommended the GTS too (that's why I chose it LOL). I am going to steer clear of the ATi, not because of this one bad experience but because a few of my techie family have told me too

    Hi NinaJay,
Umart on the sunshine coast has a GTX 260 for $200 if you want higher performance. They don't have it in stock at the moment though and I'm not sure how far away new stock is. The GTS 250 should be perfect for you if you are working with photo and video editing, and if you aren't much into gaming.

hey those links aren't working for me, i'll look them up in a minute though but my initial recommendation is going to the bottom card, it appears at first glance to be slightly more powerful than the others, but i'll look at it more closely and come back and tell you. as for buying in AU i have no idea, i'm a dumb american(which is odd, because technically canadians, and mexicans and everyone else on this side of the world is american.)

yeah i'm going to stick with the bottom one, however you may want to consider some of ati's new cards as well.
