3D Vision - Monitors than I can use

Hey peeps,

I am currently in the process of buying a new monitor since upgrading to a GTX 275 1792mb from Gigabyte (Very nice card, takes what you throw at it and the temps are very reasonable).

I am also contemplating going over to Geforce's Stereoscopic 3D vision.

Now I have been trawling Google to find out one thing particular,

Do I really need a 3D ready monitor or can i go with my current idea, and go with any monitor that has 120Hz refresh rate and 2ms refresh time.

Mainly because the monitors that ar'nt 3D are nearly £100 - £150 quid cheaper but still have the same refresh rate and refresh time.

Thanks in advance

im pretty sure the 3d feature is something built in and you've got to have a special monitor that will support it, but i haven't really looked into this so i could easily be wrong.

I use the nVidia 3D system with a Samsung 2233RZ 120Hz monitor. It isn't marked "3DReady" or anything, but it works a treat. As far as I know, any 120Hz monitor will do the business.
