The motherboard HMDI could be for the onboard graphics which are disabled because your primary card is the Radeon.

Check your graphics card box to see if they gave you a free DVI-HDMI adapter, thats usually how its done.

I haven't looked at the new Radeon cards yet but unless theres a cable to run from the graphics board to the motherboard then that HDMI port is not going to work with your card.

I would recommend using a DVI->HDMI adapter... Can buy at any local computer store, or even at walmart (Where I got mine). The only thing you won't have with that type of connection is audio, due to the conversion.

S-Video has a resolution of 640x480, HDMI/DVI will give you resolutions of up to 1920x1800 (or something close). The difference will depend on what size of TV you are hooking up to.

However, if you are happy with the quality you have now, no point in spending $30 for nothing.

It would probably make sense. As I said before, S-Video has 480i capability, where as HDMI has endless resolution.

Hope this helped you,
