Windows 7 64 bit SP1

285.62 has issues with video playback (on many mpeg I just get a black screen in windows media player 12). This issue is know by Nvidia and they are working on it. I rolled back to 280.26

Release notes say it fixes the WMP black screen I mentioned above.

These seem to install the previous physx package even though they list the new one Once you install the drivers uninstall physx only and install this NVIDIA DRIVERS 9.11.1107

I can't get the Nvidia tray icon will not stay after a reboot. It disappears from the systray and the check mark to show it is gone in the Nvidia CP. This has been going on for the last few driver updates. I know most people try to remove this but I wonder why it does not show? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Gary,

If it's not here in the NIVIDIA Control Panel to check....
Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers Windows 7-nividia.jpg
...then you might check in the Notification Area Icons settings to make sure that it's not set to be hidden there.

If still not, test to see if you may be able to run the exe file below to turn on the tray icon.
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Display\nvtray.exe
If you still cannot get it back, then you might see if completely uninstalling/reinstalling the NIVIDIA driver may help.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I believe he's saying he checks it, but on reboot it is unchecked again. Most searches bring up people wanting to remove the tray icon. A Guy

Edit:

C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Display\nvtray.exe

Perhaps it can be added to startup? Do you show the nvvsvc.exe running in task manager? And the NVIDIA Display Driver Service running in services.msc?
