    8800 GTS and Bloom

I have the latest nVidia drivers for my card (191.07) and with games like Team Fortress, bloom does not work. I used to have an earlier card, the GeForce 7950 GT, and that worked fine on Windows XP. Now with my new card on Windows 7, no form of bloom works whatsoever.

Has anyone else had this problem? A friend of mine recommended I downloaded the lastest "Forceware" for my card, but isn't that the same as the drivers I listed above?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have read this thread with great interest but I cannot for the life of me find a solution to my problem.

    Win 7 Pro 32 Bit
    E8400 3Ghz - 4Mb Ram
    EVGA GTX 275
Samsung HD260 monitor (driver installed - no new ones available)
Native (and Win 7) set to 1920 x 1200 (I have tried a number of resolutions and they only make the problem worse)
I have tried several drivers 182.50, 191.07, 195.39 etc. with no fix.
Tried changing cables DVI>HDMI, DVI>DVI etc. - No fix
All Win 7 Functions/windows, folders, Control Panel, My Computer etc. display very normally.

Basically, it seems like some applications are running in a zoomed mode. For example Open Office Calculator, Write etc. are way out of proportion showing only the upper left 1/4 of the screen but in nearly full screen as if the resolution had been changed. The problem is not limited to Open Office as several other applications do the same thing. In XP the display is quite normal (I use a dual boot system) with no display problems of any kind iin any application. Many applications such as Microsoft Flight Simulator are displaying quite normally. However a FSX associated file REX (Real Environment Xtreme) starts nearly full screen, when I exit FSX REX becomes normal size. It is hard to explain what is happening unless you see it for yourself, it's as if resolutions are changing by themselves.

I have spent days looking for the problem but getting nowhere.

    Suggested ideas would be appreciated.

Geez, I found it, staring me right in the face. It was on the first window when you click Display on the Control Panel. I was set to 150%. I could have sworn I had tried 125% and re-booted but apparently I got stupid and did not do that. I set it to 125% to try it, re-booted and all is fine now. Getting stupid in my old age!!

I found it! I could have sworn that in the past I had tried setting the size of text on the display screen to 125% and rebooted in the past but apparently not. I just tried it and it worked fine. Gettng stupid in my old age.
