Nvida GeForce 8400M GS crashes

After upgrading a Dell Inspiron 1420 to Wdws 7 Home Premium from Vista, the screen either goes blank or freezes. After updating the Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS driver (195.62 WHQL 12/04/09), I now get a BSOD when it crashes. All other drivers appear to be updated.

Rebooting after a crash usually causes either a split screen with 2 desktops or 1 low-resolution desktop. Reinstalling Wdws 7 only lasted an hour before the problem started again. Using a prior Restore Point gets it going again but only briefly.

The problem appears to be the Nvida video driver that stops working for some reason. Attached is the Minidump zip file and System Data files.

Thanks for your help.

I tried it but worked only about 10 minutes before freezing & crashing. No BSOD - just straight to a reboot. Restart get me the dual desktops. My prior Restore Points got deleted along the way.

I am about to reinstall Vista if no fix.

Thanks for the suggestion.
