While I like the Radeon 4890, it's really in a higher price league than the GTS 250. It does have much better performance though. The GTS 250 will let you play most games at medium or high detail settings and medium resolution, for $120 or so. The 4890 will do a lot better, but it's a $200+ card. I'm not a cutting edge gamer, I think I'll wait a while and probably trade in my GTS 250 for a 4890 when the price comes down to $150 or so on the 4890.

Man these what video card threads get long. My suggestion, figure out how much you want to spend then do a lot of googling on review sites and figure out what card is in your price range that will provide you with the performance your looking for.JMO. Fabe

Exactly. Just decide on your own, dont take our word for it (especially mine

). Google, BING or Yahoo!, just find a good graphics card. This tread is as loooong as Longcat.

These threads can be awfully confusing to the people who post and that's because of to many cooks.

Google, by the way key4you, is better than any single website(except for sevenforums of course!)

the 1st reply made me laugh, my 8800gt holds up in all new games I have tried it on, my thoughts are the latest cards are simply ahead of their time vs software.

which is better out of the 220 and 9800gt I dont know tho. --edit-- well after reading this entire thread its clear the 9800gt beats the 220.

When the 8800 series was relased, they we're cutting-edge. They we're the best, truly awesome. No ATI card could compare. I think its fair to say they are awesome.
