    ATI mobility x1600

When I installed Windows 7 it installed driver version 8.333.0.0.
I tried installing the new 9.3 Catalyst drivers.
When I run the install it goes through and says that it installed successfully.
But I can find no new drivers installed, and no catalyst program either.
I have tried uninstalling and repairing, but does not seem to help.
    Anyone experienced anything like this?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Have you tried installing the drivers from your mobile machine's OEM support pages?

Some mobile devices (and I know this is for a fact with certain nVidia mobile chipsets and have only *heard* that the same holds true for ATI mobile chipsets) only allow driver installs from the OEM as opposed to the general driver from ATI....

I had this problem, sort of since I don't have an IGP video card, I have the ATI x1650 Pro.
I had to load the 9.1 Vista Drivers to get the control panel to work.
The 9.3 Drivers only support the HD Series. If you look closely every thing loads but the drivers *Fail*.

I have tried the latest drivers for LG (8.461 I believe) and they work ok, but don't give me the Catalyst controls. I will try 9.1 and let ya know how it goes. Thanks guys

Old thread but thought I'd post this anyway for those just now migrating to Win7. AMD/ATI has 9.11 "Legacy" drivers posted. These work fine for me. I'm using the Vista 64 bit on my laptop after using the Mobility Modder. Get a 4.2 Aero graphics score. Here's link for the Vista x64 which work with Win7 x64 :
