    Extend desktop area

How do I extend the area of the desktop but keep it to one monitor.

I want to keep the monitor's resolution unchanged. For example, now it's 1280x800.

However I want to extend the desktop to say 2000x800. But at any one time, it's only showing a 1280x800 segment of the desktop. Then when I move my mouse to the edge of the screen it scroll the desktop.

Just like how it work in RTS games. There is a super large map but you only see a portion of of it. Then you can scroll it when you reach the edges.

    Thanks.

NVIDIA display drivers under XP can do that, but under 7, that behavior is gone for good... If you need additional desktop real-estate, add a monitor (or two, OR THREE !!).

360 Desktop - Bring your Desktop to Life

Its a program that gives you nearly unlimited desktop space under 1 monitor.
