Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 not supported?

I installed this card in windows 7, build 7068 (winmain 090321-1322) but no luck. I downloaded the latest Catalyst driver from the ATI.AMD.Com site (9_3_vista64_win_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu) versions 9.3.0.0.

However I cannot go beyond resolution 1920x1440
It recognises the videocard as Standard VGA Adapter

When I start Catalyst Control Center, I only have 3 entries which can slightly be modified:
    - Hydragrid
    - Desktop manager
    - Multi Desktop

    CCC says in the helpbox:
    Version 2009.0303.2224.40202
    MS .NET framework 2.0.50727.4913

    Any help?
    Thanks a lot
    Peter

Try installing the 9.2 release. The 9.3 did not install for me either, but it appeared as though it did. I had to edit the .inf for it to install properly.

You should be good after installing the 9.2. Google it.

nah. You could install right over the other one. If for some reason you want or need to remove 9.3, open my computer. Near the top is a link to click to "uninstall or change a program." Use that to find previous installed ATI software and remove.

If your reverting to a previous version, it's probably best to un-install first. This is catalyst we're talking about

The first attempt should be to uninstall ATI install manger within Control Panel>uninstall programs.

Failing that, you can uninstall the driver through device manager > display adapters.

um at this point it actually be best to use the drivers included in your card as these have been spefically made for your card....
since the card came out after the drivers did then its a matter of time before there is a release specifically to your graphics card...
but if you really want to get wddm 1.1 drivers then you can post your hardwareIDS and i will make a modification to the inf so you can install it manually...
ok well go to start then type "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes)
then go to your "Standard VGA Adapter" entry under the display adapters tab
    and double click
