Wonder if there is a Vista driver that would suffice.

Sorry, but you are limited in what you can do with this video. The easiest fix is to get a good $20 to $30 compatible video card to add to your desktop and disable the on-board video.

However, Intel's 855 video driver package does include your chipset and while it might help, it won't allow for Aero stuff in 7. Here is from the inf file for 855:
    Code:
    [Intel.Mfg]
    %iMGM% = i852GM, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3582

    %iSDG% = i865G, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2572

    %iGDGD0% = i915G0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2582
    %iGDGD1% = i915G1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2782
    %iALVD0% = i915GM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2592
    %iALVD1% = i915GM1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2792
I found this driver package here: Graphic driver - Dell D505

If it will not work, let us know and we can search for a possible desktop driver package?

    Cheers!

Yes the driver worked for my Dell computer, but as I understand, it is a Windows Default driver packaged with Vista.

Did you follow the included instructions and manually install the driver?

If you would like, we can look at HP's web site, but we need the exact model of your HP computer. (Just Pavilion for example applies to dozens of models)

    Cheers!

    My visit to HP here:

HP Compaq d530 Convertible Minitower Desktop PC- Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

Led me to a Vista graphics driver dated Feb, 2010. No promises, but you could try it. If the driver package will not self install, you can try the manual install, browsing to the INF file in the driver folder?

There is another driver located here, but less promising: Fall 2006 Original Intel Graphics Drivers - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

It doesn't say it is for vista, but some older drivers have worked OK in Vista and 7. Please look at this Tutorial on Compatibility Mode: Compatibility Mode

    Good luck!
