    Ati radeon hd5670

Hi all I was considering getting a Radeon 5670 to replace my onboard video which
is a Radeon 3200 and I was wanting to know if anybody has installed one and if so what the windows experience score was.

    Thanks

well from what i found the windows 7 score for this card scored a 6.9 but seeing a lot of bad user reviews on it. i'd look at other models in your price range.

The only reason I was thinking of it was that I only have one slot open and the xfx version fits in one slot and the low power consumption of max 75 watts and no power connector required and it supports direct x 11. My system is new but witha 400w power supply and this will work great on it. By the way thanks for your insight and the score helps me with my decision.

The WEI score is a good reference point in that it will score higher with this card than your current card, but I wouldn't base my decision solely on Windows WEI score. Do some web research on the card to see if there are other issues as has been pointed out.

    Good luck.

I have a 400W PSU, and I'm not a hardcore gamer, so i've bought this GPU (although a sapphire branded one). It runs cool, makes very little noise and consumes very little power. The catalyst overdrive utility enables you to safely overclock your card... i got a 75 Mhz increment in the GPU clock speed and a 50 MHz increment in memory clock speed, got my windows experience rating up to 7.0

According to this AmD - Ati link 400 is minimum for a 5670. You'll probably be ok but it could tax yout PSU.

    Switch from a 5670 to 5770

Hi all just an update , I have decided instead of getting the HD5670 I have gone with the SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD5770 1GB .It installed ok and with no problems. I ran the windows 7 experience test and it goes from a 4.1 with onboard Radeon 3200 to a 7.4. As well my ddr2 800 ram went from 5.9 to a 7.1.The temp of the GPU runs at 35 c at idle to 55 working hard.If anybody has any other questions just post them and I will answer them as best as I can.

The 5770 is an excellent choice for graphics, I'm glad you found one that suits you. :)
