Graphics Card Not Working when BIOS correct

I have just got a new fast AMD motherboard and the PCI-E graphics card is just not being recognized by the motherboard. The primary device is PEG and it is not detected. The built-in GPU works.

May seem like a silly question, but did you connect the power to the card, and make sure it was seated correctly?

Can you try that card in another PC or a different PCIe slot? I just recently bought a Geforce 220GT PCIe card and it was DOA. Black screen and my BIOS wouldn't detect it. I didn't have another PC to test it in but the store I bought it at tested it for me and confirmed it was defective. The replacement worked which was a relief for me, I was worried that my motherboard might have been damaged. It only has the one PCIe x16 slot.

Try this:

Turn off the built-in graphics in device manager.
Re-start you computer with the new card inside and monitor plugged in.
Download the latest drivers from Nvidia.

Is this a PCIe or PCI graphics card? I only ask because in one post you said it just plugs in a PCI slot and has no extra power connector. You probably meant to say PCIe but I just want to make sure. A PCI card won't work in a PCIe slot and vise versa.

In addition to the above this is the stupid question of the day, but is the monitor connected to the card, or one of the outputs for the onboard?

Just to appease my curiosity...

With the graphics card installed, does the on-board video work?

I know you said it works fine however it should not work with the graphics card installed. If it does and you verified the card works in another machine, then you probably have:

1. a setting wrong in the mobo bios
2. a defective motherboard.

I have a different motherboard but my onboard graphics don't work when my PCIe card is installed and enabled. Did you try your monitor on both connectors on your 9500. One last thing to try is to reset your bios to defaults and try changing the settings again.
