Windows 7: Display driver stopped responding

I got a new computer 3 days ago and I have a problem with graphic card. When I try to play a game it works and then the screen stops responding for about 30 seconds and comes back and says Display driver has stopped responding and har recovered. I tried updating the drivers, flashing BIOS but nothing helped.
I have GA-P55S-UD3 motherboard, ATI Radeon HD5850 graphics, and i7 860 CPU.

I had the same problem before with my HD5750 but it just suddenly stopped. Been clear for long time now.

Check your RAM voltages and timings
Did you try the beta drivers?

No, I didn't try the beta drivers. What should I look for in RAM voltages and timings? They are default, CMOS resetted when I updated BIOS.
Also, could the power supply be the problem? I have LC6600GP2 600W.

Did you overclock your GPU?

I didn't overclock it. I also tried all the drivers, but it didn't help.

There are many theories on the causes as well as fixes. While one fix might work for some, others find they don't work at all.

This issue affects both Nvidia and ATI video cards, in both Vista and Windows 7

Some find that replacing the card fixes the problem. When I first encountered this issue that's what I had to do as I found the card to be faulty.

And before I get beat up - This is NOT saying there isn't a problem elsewhere, it's just saying what some, including myself have done to fix the problem. Again, for me, it turned out my card was faulty.

However, I personally think there's a problem in the way Vista and Windows 7 handles info from the video cards which may be too sensitive thus triggers the Display stopped responding warning prematurely even on a slight hiccup from the card.

Overclocked and/or overheated video cards are particularly prone to this issue but even properly functioning cards can trigger the warning.

Hello! I have a new computer with Windows 7 x64 Graphic card: Nvidia Geforce 220 GT, 4 GB Memory. And when i play games or look on small movies on it, sometimes the screen become black and then shows again. And in the corner it stand: Nvidia Windows kernel mode driver has stop working and have been reset.

It is very boring when it happening because my computer is new and I don't want any problem

I'm from sweden so excuse me for my bad english. I would be very happy for an answer, and if anyone more than me got the same problem..
