Currently I have windows set to the "recommended" balance setting which is 10 minutes to monitor-off and 1 hour to computer-sleep. When bringing the comp back to life within 1 hour simply from monitor-off all is well but, if waking the computer after more than 1 hour's inactivity it comes back to life with an additional 3/8" black padding around the monitor's perimeter making it look very much like a monitor that has not yet been manually adjusted.
Can add that the options to select my target resolution are grayed-out as it has not actually changed to a higher or lower rez. What I do notice is that the refresh rate HAS changed to 60Hz as opposed to the 85Hz I set. Manually changing resolution (higher or lower) then back again to 1280x960 does not remove the padding BUT changing the refresh rate back to 85Hz does clear the padding returning the monitor back to proper adjustments and settings.
I've not done a boatload of investigation into this yet, just hoping that someone might have an idea whether I should suspect the OS, onboard video, or monitor? I do have the latest video driver linked to in this forums sticky.
Any nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.
