Reinstalled winows 7 - TV flickering constantly

    Hi!

I were on the beta testing program of windows 7 and had my computer hooked up to the TV and monitor with no problems all the time.

I recently installed windows 7 norwegian version and a issue occoured. Now the TV is constantly flashing and does a green pixelation. If I were to describe it further it looks like a very bad 16 colour image. It flashes the image from the computer once each second while inbetween the screen is black.

    I installed legit copy btw.

Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance for reading :)

    I tried this so far:
    Updated latest NVIDIA driver.
All kinds of resolutions and hz.
    Reinstalling
Searching for errors on the device with windows 7 (none found)
Replugging the cables and changing DVI ports

my card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260

Make sure your refresh rate is the same as the TV's.

I had the same symptom you are experiencing after I finished my Windows 7 Ultimate install on my HTPC.
The main difference is that I am not using a video card, just the onboard Nvidia 9300 chipset.

My TV is hooked up to the computer with HDMI, which worked great in Vista.

Since the screen was black most of the time with the desktop showing for maybe 1 - 2 seconds I decided to hook up my 19" monitor to the VGA port on the HTPC.
As soon as I plugged in the monitor the TV stopped flashing.
I thought it was fixed so I unplugged the VGA cable from the HTPC and the TV started to flash again. Plugged the VGA cable back in and the flashing stopped.
I didn't want to leave the 19" monitor hooked up to my HTPC since there's no place to leave it and I use that 19" when I fix PC's so I unplugged the VGA cable from the monitor but left it plugged into the HTPC and lo and behold, the TV didn't flash. I just have a VGA cable plugged into the HTPC and nothing on the other end and my TV stopped flashing.
I guess you can try the same thing and see if that does anything for you, just plug in one of the DVI>VGA dongles.

I hope that works, it would be somewhat interesting to know if there's a bug that causes that.

I will try similar steps, alas my display adapter has only 2x DVI ports. And my monitor is always connected at the same time as the TV. Pulling it out and changing ports on them changes nothing sadly.

As for the refresh rate, I tried 50, 59 and 60.

It is so strange since it worked flawless with the RC candidate for almost a year.

edit : playing with my nvidia control panel which has more options I managed to get the TV going completely black while setting resolultion and refresh. strange again.
