Hdmi output works on startup, not windows 7

I have researched and researched but have found nothing to help me. I have an AMD 7750 dual core processor and 2x ati radeon x1300 gc's. I have downloaded the latest drivers for it several times. Restarted. Messed with resolutions. Restarted. Nothing is working. It's got to be something simple.

2 Things
1) The hdmi output works on startup, but goes black/unsupported by monitor when windows 7 pops up with choosing a user.

2)When I have the "normal" plug in for the computer in it works fine, but after i plug in the hdmi, the normal plug goes to the secondary screen (as in dual moniters) and I switch the input on the tv to the hdmi input that, obviously, the hdmi cord is plugged into and I get unsupported signal. And I am pretty sure the computer thinks that the hdmi cable would be the main screen. Not 2nd screen.

Please help. I have been at it for about 5 hours.

Btw, my monitor is a 40" sony bravia.
