What type of memory and slots are being used?
One possible cause is a bad stick of ram.
Bios up to date?
When a bios can't read the correct cpu, you will get a blank screen.
Was the monitor working when you set up the BIOS or was this a first run?
Here's another thing to try (it sounds dumb but it has worked for some folks)
Unplug your computer, now hold in the power button for 30 seconds, release. Now plug back in and see if boots up with monitor.
I know it's frustrating
You should get video during the BIOS loading even without an OS. No video at BIOS means that one or more pieces of hardware are defective or installed incorrectly. Those parts are Motherboard, Processor, Power Supply, Video Card, Memory (given the monitor is good). You can get the BIOS screens with just these parts - you don't need a hard drive, let alone an OS.
You diagnose the problem through the process of elimination: determine which parts are good and which are not. I suggest the following procedure:
* Are you getting the POST beep at start up? One beep from the motherboard that confirms that the board has "found itself".
* Check that DVI to VGA connector. One bent pin or broken connection would explain everything. If you can borrow a DVI connected monitor do so. Eliminate the connection as the problem.
* Check all of your connections on your build. Double and triple check that you have supplied power to the video card, processor, and motherboard correctly. Re-seat the video card and memory modules. Check all connections.
* Test the video card in another computer or try a different one in yours.
* If you have a Multi-meter you should test your power supply for proper 12v to all the yellow wires.
* I read some reviews of your motherboard on Newegg. There seems to be a good number of complaints about quirky behaviors with that board. One poster wrote that by installing 2 sticks of memory in slots 2 and 3 solved his problem. You could try that as a wild-ass guess.
* Basic diagnostic procedure is to uninstall the entire build and start over. (Some people do this out of the case by placing the motherboard on an anti-static surface. This eliminates the possibility that there is a short between the motherboard and the case through the connection posts. A post in the wrong location or a sloppy job will do this). Connect the motherboard, power supply, and processor only and power on. The board should beep like crazy with the "no memory" beep code. This is good, it means the processor is functioning and the motherboard is good so far. Now add one stick of memory and power on. More beeping: "no video card" beep code. This is good. Then add the video card and connect it to the monitor. You should get no beeping and you should see the BIOS screens, ending with the message that there is no boot device. If you get no video then switch the memory sticks (still just one).
If still no video you need to start buying and replacing parts and this involves more wild-ass guessing. If you post back with your results we can give you some pointers as to how to test the component, if possible. It really helps if you have another computer to play with.
