To suggest that ati cards "work better", or as you put it, "have fewer issues" with amd cpu's is a myth; one we can't even call an urban legend because it hasn't been around long enough... in short, it's nonsense.
Cpu's don't "talk" directly to graphics cards; they communicate through the northbridge. If there are certain chipsets that have problems with ATI cards, we're all ears? yes its a chipset thing, when ya put a ati card in a intel chipset you sometimes get issues, like wise when you put a ati card in a nvidia chipset, or a nvidia card in a ati one, so if your going with a amd based mobo your best off to get a ati card ...

i keep chnaging my mind between them, they both have there adv and dis adv. the gtx 260 is better but the price here in the UK its £165 witch is alot. So if im going to get that i want it to be worth the money.
Whats the WEI rating to give me a rough idea how high it is?
here is the card btw BFG GTX260 OC MAXCORE 55nm 896MB (D) Dual DVI PhysX and Cuda ready PCI-E Graphics Card - Ebuyer Same exact card I have. I think the WEI rating was around 7.9 or so with that card, but I'm not quite sure, I'll run it tonight, back to work for me | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ME OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel i5 2500k @ 4.7Ghz Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V Memory 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 Graphics Card EVGA Classified GTX560ti 448 core Sound Card ASUS Xonar DG - Logitech G930 Headset Monitor(s) Displays ASUS 24" VE247 Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech G9x PSU Seasonic x650 Gold Certified Modular Case Corsair 400R / NZXT Sentry Mesh Fan Controller Cooling Corsair H100 / XIGMATEK 120mm White LED x 9 Hard Drives 120GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD

I have to ask... just how exactly did you arrive at this conclusion? just from reading about the people who use them the one's i've seen using amd chipsets have had less problems that i've seen I think it might be more of a coincidence thing. ~Lordbob And only a handful of games used DX10, and about 2 games used DX10.1, so it's all just about future proofing really. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Service Pack 1 CPU Intel Core i7 920 Motherboard ASUS Sabertooth x58 Memory 6GB XMS3 Corsair 1333MHz Graphics Card ASUS Nvidia Geforce GTX470 SLI Sound Card ASUS Xonar DX/XD 7.1 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 24" S2409W + Dell 20" E207WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1080 + 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech G11 Keyboard Mouse Logitech G5 Laser Mouse (2007 edition) PSU Corsair HX850 modular Case Coolermaster 690II Advanced Nvidia Edition Cooling Zalman CNPS9700-NT Cooler, 3x 140mm, 2x 120mm Hard Drives 1x 120GB OCZ Vertex 2E, 1x 750GB Western Digital Caviar Black, 1x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Green Internet Speed 100Mbps Other Info LG Blu-Ray player |

DX11 is making great strides, by the end of the year at least 20+ games will be using it, major games such as AvsP. In 2011 many more games will move onto it. Mostly because of the generation gap, like with XP to 7. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Zen Productions OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel i7-860 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P Memory Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz, 8-8-8-24 1.65v 2x2GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon 5770 HD Sound Card Intel High Definition Sound Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech G110 Mouse Logitech MX Revolution PSU Corsair CMPSU-750HX 750W Case Antec p183 Cooling Corsair H50 Water Cooler Hard Drives Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb Internet Speed 768 mb/s |
