Someone from another thread posted this link. Here's the latest:
Report: Nvidia GTX 480 to Have Disabled Cores
So releasing today, the GTX 480 and its cheaper brother are going to be reviewed by Hexus this evening (GMT -8 to GMT -5):
HEXUS.net - News :: This evening's entertainment: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 : Page - 1/1
$499 and $349 from the looks of it. But I'm not jumping on this bandwagon since the specs are supposed to put the 400 series at only 5-10% faster than ATI's 5000 series of comparable models. It seems the silicon is reaching its limits.
No dual GPU model yet, and the 5970 is still top dog until the performance reviews are in this evening. :)

Yup. This plus disabled cores makes me weary on sticking with NVIDIA. The ATI 5970 and future models is looking much better. I have a 3-way SLI/CrossfireX capable board (EVGA X68 A1), but I have a second video card to run two other monitors and don't feel like cramming a third in there since it would prevent me from running my sound card. So I'm stuck with the best solo card, which is the GTX 295 or 5970 now. I doubt the GTX 480 would have enough of a performance gain to justify an upgrade for $500. My 295 might even come closer to its performance.
