Nvidia, Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening

    Hello, Gang

I am using Nvidia 179.13 on GeForce 7300 GT
The Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening options show in the Nvidia Control pannel
when the driver is first installed, Than after a reboot ( or Two ) the Image Sharpening
Option Disappears and the Digital Vibrance option is listed but is non functional.

I have not been able to correlate this to any changes or other actions, Sometimes
they function properly and sometimes they fail. This always happens after a reboot.

System has been scanned for viruses with multiple programs. It occurs even after a
    clean install.

Sometimes after a reboot they are active but are set to Zero.

I have tried everything I can think of, Your help is greatly appreciated. I need these settings to help see with my old eyes.

When you re-install your drivers, do you uninstall previous ones, and use Driver Sweeper to fully clean then install the new ones?

    Thanks Everlong,

I was not aware of that utility. I used Driver Sweeper as you suggested, through safe mode for both
uninstall and reinstall, I was also able to block Windows from downloading an older driver.

Sorry to say it made no difference.

I noticed the Driver Sweeper option to uninstall the Chipset. I did not
uninstall it, would this help? If so how do I reinstall it.

I really appreciate your help, this problem is very irritating. Could it be a hardware glitch?

7 series are old enough, my card is as ancient as yours. Few newer drivers would give them full function and most of them not.

I had tested almost every Nvidia driver for Windows 7 from 170.xx to the newest 197.25, and only three ones' digital vibrance and image sharpening options would function normally: 174.55, 191.66, and 195.62. And you're adviced to try 191.66 firstly.

    1. Download Nvidia Driver 191.66 W7 x86 here , (your ram is 2 GB, I guess your OS should
    be x86.)

    2. Extract the downloaded file and rename the file folder as Nvidia 191.66 W7 x86 .

    3. Download the Modified Inf. file there, then move and replace the nv_disp.inf file to your
    Nvidia 191.66 W7 x86 file folder.

Please tell if that driver works or not after testing.

    Thanks for the good information.

I downloaded 191.66 but it would not install (does not fit hardware )

I could not find either of the tow versions you suggested.

I think you are on the right track. This did not happen on the older drivers, I wish I had kept them.

Did you replace the nv_disp.inf file?

Nevertheless, try 174.55 for vista (x86) then. You can find it here. (Sorry, perhaps it will become the same story that you should try a lot of drivers and find some suitable ones as I had done before. )

Extract the downloaded file and click the setup.exe to install directly (this one need not replace the nv_disp.inf file).

Both Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening functions work normally to my card though the adjustment might be a little stuttered.......

Really, the appearance of Windows 7 becomes dull without digital vbrance and image shapening. Sincerely hope you find a good driver for your card.

    Outstanding, 194.55 works perfectly.

Thank You Very Very Much. This has been bugging me for a long time ( probably since I updated from 194.55.)

Could not have done it without your help. Keep up the good work
