Laptop not offering 1920x1080 rez when connected to TV

Hi,

I am trying to connect my laptop (intel 4 series express chipset w/latest drivers) to my TV which supports 1920x1080 but when I connect it the max resolution offered is something like 1366x768. When i connect the laptop to a 24" viewsonic monitor it offers 1920x1080.

Any ideas?

There should be a setting in your TV setup to set native resolution when a PC is connected, your PC can do this also. I tested my Vizio 37" HDTV which is 1920x1080 with a near 6 y/o DELL XPS Gen 1 laptop using an ATI 128 Mb video card through the DVI port and it ran at 1920x1080 on the Vizio, that test prompted me to buy a desktop for my entertainment center, good luck.

No setting on my TV that I can find

The computer input on the TV says DSUB and uses a VGA connector.
