    New Graphics Card

Hi, I have a laptop and i am interested in replacing my current graphics card.
I have no idea if it is intregrated or what, so I would like you to help me out . :)

So here are my main questions :

Is the graphics card intregrated and how to find it out ?
What are the graphics cards that match my mother board and how to find it out ?

Keep in mind, that i would like a proper graphics card (ATI Radeon HD****/nVidia GeForce 9***) for extreme gaming and detail

When I get a graphics card like this, I will take it to my manufacturer and let them place it to my computer, no way I'm going to break my computer trying to replace it myself.

What is the exact manufacturer/model number of your laptop?

The x1270 is an integrated GPU.

At an educated guess, I think you might be disappointed

For the most part laptop graphics cards aren't cards, not like they are in a desktop PC. They are built into the actual motherboard and aren't upgradeable. Some high end laptops are upgradeable but I believe those graphics cards are unique to the brand and model so you would have to have the manufacturer do it. I would think it would be an expensive proposition. I'd probably start by going to the manufacturers web site and get what info you can there. Another option is to have a look and see if you can find the service manual for your laptop online somewhere.

chances are you can't upgrade it..... and the manufacture probably won't either.... your best bet is to get a desktop to game on

Well, I did and you didn't give a model number...

There are only a few laptop models that have an expansion slot to upgrade a GPU. Without knowing exactly what model it is, it's hard to say whether yours fits this category.

The mobo specs indicate it's not feasible and even if it was, what exactly do you hope to gain?

You're much better off building a budget desktop for ~$500. If you know how to build your own computer, you'll be able to build a rig that can play anything out there without spending too much.

Keep in mind that figure doesn't include anything other than the tower and what it contains. If you have to purchase a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc then you'll be spending an extra couple hundred dollars.

I am saying that definitively looking at your system specs that you have a non-replacable, integrated graphics solution. The only way to upgrade it is to buy an external graphics card, which you would hook up between your laptop and a monitor, or you need to buy a new laptop. I'd suggest buying a new laptop.

It also depends on what you do with it. Are you mobile or does it serve as a desktop replacement?

So are most people with older laptops, but you're probably not going to be able to.
