    laptop to plasma tv hdmi connection


    hi there, heres my problem,
    i have an acer 5536 laptop, also a samsung plasma tv.
    on vista i could just connect hdmi to hdmi and hey presto i was watching iplayer no probs.
    now running windows 7 ultra. when i plug in the hdmi lead to laptop the laptop screen goes black with pc running, and tv says "mode not supported" i cannot alter anything on pc screen because its off! on disconnecting hdmi from laptop screen comes back on! help!
    i`m going bonkers trying to sort it!

    Here's the latest video card drivers from your computer manufacturer, although knowing the type of card itself would likely give you more updated drivers:

    32-BIT

    Here's a link to your latest BIOS Update... However, I wouldn't do this unless you know what you're doing:

    Also, when you're in the Catalyst Control Panel (Video Settings) you should be able to adjust the region in the Video out settings. There should be a coupe options, NTSC and PAL, you have to set yours to PAL if you're in england.

    hey guys, i think the problem is sorted now, i connected via hdmi3 (on side of telly) to laptop and hey presto .........sound and vision.....i was connected to hdmi2(on back), why this input works and the others don`t, i don`t have a scooby!
