the latest official ATI driver has broken OpenGL texturing in 1.5-2.x apps.

Happens everytime they implement a new version of opengl.

I have absolutely no issues, running CCC 10.3. Two Gpu's, two separate machines. I play plenty of games, many old, and opengl. The quakes, quake wars, and more. I still play quake 2 even, just today... yeah.. Unless this is something entirely different, and not to do with game engines. You say issues with old OpenGL, but with each new version of OpenGL...do you mean with each new driver? I'm a little confused.

    Peace

Back when they implemented opengl 2 (probably related to the half assed NPOT extension support), they broke opengl textures in Quake 3 and opengl demo's for roughly 7 months., spanning 7.10 - 8.5.

They did the same back when they first introduced 3.0 though it was only limited to text sprite edges, and only lasted till about 9.4, and now again with the addition of 4.0 they've caused missing textures in several OGL titles.

its not easily reproducible if you use one of the updated Quake 3 Opengl files. What it really, heavily effected was emulation of the psx, and many glide wrappers required patching to fix the glitch.

Specs of a GTX460 have started popping up too, with a planned released of this Summer. It's pretty much just going to be half a 480, and will be priced around $250USD, so it will most likely sit between a 5830 and 5850.

A few days ago I found out why my 470 is running warmer.
Seems running dual monitors, 470s by default don't clock down to 2D idles. This supposely fixes a "flicker" issue with duals.

Now my question is, what if I put my 260 in the second slot and run the second monitor off it. That would release the 470, allowing it to clock down (saving power during idle) and apply all it's rescources to one display. With the added 260 running 2D clocks as a constant (less power) would I be saving power in the long run with the two cards combined?

I imagine you'd be using more power with the second card in.

I've not seen this one mine, but I'm running one of my monitors through HDMI and the second through DVI, and it downclocks accordingly. The new drivers are planned to be released sometime soon, so I'd hang and see if they fix it.

    Just found this out.
If you have a EVGA 470/480 go to your EVGA account, then My Product page, then click Details button.
3/4 down you will see a new promotions section with a code for a full download of Cryostasis *free full version*. It says for cards purchased after May 1st, but works for purchases before that also.

This promo wasn't there the other day, at least for me, just wanted to give other EVGAers a heads up.

Did the code work for you? I get it, but when I enter it, it's acts like it wasn't entered, and just looks like it's going to charge you the full price.

Yeah I entered the code, I filled out my info, and clicked next, and this is what I get.

So if I click place order, it still looks like it's going to charge for it. Because it makes you give a card number to complete the order. I don't see that it says the promo code was applied.

Sorry, but it did it show you that it applied the code, and showed a price of 0, or..
