    Weird Colors on Screen

I have a problem with my graphic card (8800 GTS)
I was working with my PC and suddenly windows (Windows 7 32bit) hanged up and mouse & keyboard freezed. the picture on the screen get confused and colors get mixed up.
after restarting the computer the screen had some weird colors like these:

and the windows never started up (windows restart before the logon screen every time)
even there is no luck in using another windows (XP).
I changed the cable, monitor, power but there was no luck. but when I used another graphic card (an old one(6600)), the problem solved and everything going to ok.

I know that the problem is my graphic gard, but is there any solution before i take it for repair ?

    [ I am using 196.21 graphic driver software. ]

hi raya2, it certainly looks like you have a faulty graphics card, i think it will be cheaper to buy a new one than have it repaired

a faulty graphics card is usually defined as the ram chips or graphic chip has gone bad i.e. broke in some way, you're card is showing those symptoms ,not many pc repair shops will actually repair a card because of the time and cost involved so its cheaper to buy a new one :)

In your Nvidia Control Managers "Manage Custom Resolution" tab, make sure that the Color and the Resolution settings are set to the size you like and the selected parameters permit the 60hz setting from this screen.

    Then adjust your windows settings.

    1. Right click on a blank spot on the desktop
    2. Select Personalize
    3. Select Display Settings
    4. Select Advanced Settings
    5. From the Adapter tab select LIST ALL MODES
    6. Make sure you have the correct settings here as well.

After making these changes, reboot. If your problem does not go away, you probably need to invest in a new card.

thanks but windows doesn't start with this faulty graphic card
I use the default native screen resolution of my monitor (1680x1050 60HZ)
and also in the LIST ALL MODES section , i have the same settings
    1680 by 1050, True Color (32 bit), 60 Hertz

I also forgot that in safe mode, I can start and login to windows 7 with the faulty card
( I tried to rollback my driver but it didn't help)
