    Contrast is Stubborn Too.

Alright, I think I fixed the brightness problem. Now, how do I fix the contrast problem? Sometimes I have to adjust the contrast 3 times per day. It's stubborn, as it's constantly going back to the middle position. I want it 75% of the way down, and I want it to stay that way. How do I fix this? lol

    Hi Valor D,

If this is branched off from a previous thread, could you please post a link to that thread, or simply post this in the same thread?

    Thanks,

No, it's a separate issue. Just that I asked how to fix the ever changing brightness problem yesterday, and got some good help. But, now I have this problem.

    Hello Valor,

Did you try the manual contrast adjustment settings on the monitor to see if that may work instead?

If u mean under "calibrate color", then yes. It bounces back to the default at will.

You probably need to update your drivers for your laptop. Most of the specialty items such as Contrast Control, special keys, touchpad and other things can't be fully controlled using the default windows drivers/controllers. Go to your manufacturer's website and download all of the latest drivers. That should atleast get you into a situation where you've got the correct setup.

For example: If I don't install Boot Camp and/or the associated drivers for my macbook pro I won't have access to any of my special function keys, my keyboard won't function the way it should and my webcam, bluetooth and many other features won't work. Granted you probably have more initial support since your laptop is likely from a major Windows based manufacturer but you still need drivers and software from the manufacturer if you want all the features and everything to function properly.

I went to the DELL support and tried downloading the driver updates in the order which it says. It says there are over 30 available for my system. Every time I try to run the first download, it tells me that there are no drivers to download. It's completely retarded. Why don't they come with the drivers pre-installed? This crap seriously pisses me off.
