Windows 7: FX 5500 PCI and Asus Pundit-R

FX 5500 PCI and Asus Pundit-R

Hi all,

I have read a few posts on here about people (luckily) getting a 5500 all set up with Aero on 7.

I've recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate, everything went fine installed brilliantly. Except for the graphics card, which is a GeForce FX 5500 PCI 128mb, I realise not the best, but I have my 360 for gaming. Once Windows had upgraded my driver I was greeted with a Code 12 error of "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use."

I've dug around and done what the web suggests, everything that I don't use is disabled, FireWire, Serial, Parallel, Ethernet, Modem all disabled and yet I'm still getting this error.

I don't know if this would be a problem, but the Pundit uses a PCI bay type attachment that sends two PCI ports through one PCI port, I only have the gpu plugged in, nothing else.

Any ideas? Really losing my patience, just to watch videos properly would be good enough at this stage.

Thanks in advance
