    Dell Inspiron 1420 display problem

I upgraded from Windows Vista Home to Windows 7 professional.I then installed all drivers for the system.Device Manager doesNOT show problem with any of drivers.
Problem is....Brightness of display is so low that screen is not visible clearly.I am not able to increase brightness from function keys and also in power profiles it shows brighness as maximum still screen is barely visible. This happens when laptop is no battery.Display is fine when it is on main power supply.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 and I have Intel(R) Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100.

    Please help!!!!!!.

No i was not able to find out that option in BIOS.I updated BIOS drivers though.I'll try to find brightness option once again. If u have any idea where can i find it in Dell 1420 that would be helpful.

    Thanks for ur reply.

hi deepak, in the bios under "video" you should see "brightness" - "brightness (AC)" if you highlight "brightness" you will see the default setting is set to 3, raise that to about 8 , save your changes and exit , then you will find when you are running on battery the screen will be brighter :)
