Well Physx is done through CUDA, and ATI have Stream to compete against CUDA, just there's no Physx to run on Stream yet.

i just found out nvidia is being a baby and wont let you use physx if you have a not nvidia GPU installed on you system so if you want physx you have to stick with Nvidia which im sorry to hear -- all i know is im not giving them any more money cuz of that

Well I'm pretty sure if it was ATI who bought Ageia Physx then it would be the other way round.

Same reason I can't use Eyefinity on my Nvidia card. You don't develop something and then let the competition use it.

The games don't "support Nvidia" so to speak, it's "Nvidia supports the game". Nvidia, for example with Bad Company 2, supported the development of the game financially to add Nvidia features such as Nvidia Surround etc, same with Batman: Arkham Asylum, Physx were added to it, and Nvidia helped develop code to allow anti-aliasing on the DX9 Unreal Engine, which is usually not possible as you normally need DX10 and above for anti-aliasing on deferred shading renders.

ATI did the same with Dirt2 in supporting the developers to optimise the game for things like Eyefinity. It's pretty much down to which side gets there first.

There are hacks to get around that.

    *********

Nvidia has more $$$ to 'aid developers' which yields more sales of Nvidia products.

Nvidia has been the 'top dog' for so long, that it's only natural for developers to accept nvidias 'support'.

ATI have been pushing for developers to use opensource physics applications in lieu of Propietary apps like PhysX.

Opensource = no overhead cost for developers to use. Proprietary = cost + strings attached.
