Windows 7 HP Graphic Card Problem

How it started: My computer freezed while I was surffing on the net, I tryed to open the windows task manager to see if I could solve the problem but the computer did not react to the keyboard so I shut it down on the computer button and restarted it again and I noticed a diference on the HP BOOT menu (watch the pictures) but that is not the only problem, I cant use the f11 key to start the system recovery, the graphic card ventilator also runs faster now, I cant use the Sleep or the Hybernate mode and the screen resolution just goes till 1600x1200 and my screen used to be 1680x1050, Im trying to get a solution but its really hard and Im not an expert so I hope you can help me. Thanks alot.

    System:

    HP Pavilion Elite m9361
    Intel Core2 Quad Q9300
    GeForce 9800 GT
    Memory RAM: 4GB

Can you get into SafeMode (F8 key) and reset the resolution to a supported value?

(I've never seen an LCD display run that far out of range. That may be because I've always used the DVI interface.)

It may be just as well that you're having trouble with F11. It's likely that will rstore the machine the the condition when it left the factory, wiping out all of your files and settings. If it was originally a Vista machine which has been upgraded to Win7, the recovery partition may have been rendered useless.

If you have a Win7 installation DVD, the next thing to try would be repairing the startup.

This isn't a Windows problem. If the bootup screen looks that weird and F11 doesn't work, something in the BIOS is corrupted. The computer is having graphic card problems before Windows even loads.

The first thing that I would do is to find the CMOS reset jumpers on the motherboard and do a reset of your BIOS, then reboot and set the parameters properly.

Then reboot and see if the HP boot screen is still corrupted. If it is, remove the graphics card (if possible), and re-seat it. If that still doesn't work, it might be an idea to try another card, or if the machine has an integrated card on the motherboard by default, try that.

This is a hardware problem, not a Windows problem.

Try unplugging the monitor from the GPU n restart pc, it will revert settings. Then try again. Also resetting CMOS will be a good idea. Also reseating the GPU could help if there's dust or something in there.

Once working, if the card isn't dead I'd make sure it's not overheating.
Try a driver update. and get eVGA Precision to watch temps (increase fan speed if needed)

The card could have overheated, try another card. or onboard graphics if you have it. (most HP PC's do) and if the card died. call eVGA, or PNY or whatever brand the 9800GT is and get another one.

Are you able to try it with a different monitor? Maybe the monitor is bad, or the cable is loose?
