Trouble connecting to tv with S-video

The situation that you describe is exactly what happened to me with an earlier NVIDIA card. In the advanced graphics set-up have you set the card to FORCE TV detection?

PS: I also agree with rvbfan. Set your resolution low to begin with (also don't set it to any of the widescreen sizes) this should rule out resolution issues.

I can only tell you where I find mine and hope that this guides you. There are two methods.
1. From the start globe open the windows control panel, look for the NVIDIA COntrol panel, double click. Select 'Setup Multiple Displays', Click My display is not shown', choose 'Rigorous Display Detection', click 'yes'
OR
2. Right click on the desktop, select 'screen resolution', click on 'Advanced Settings', choose the tab for your graphics card, click the 'Start NVIDIA COntrol Panel' button. Select 'Setup Multiple Displays', Click My display is not shown', choose 'Rigorous Display Detection', click 'yes'

Remember that this works for my old NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT card, yours may be different.

Lol (and sorry for laughing), I've done this before too. Here are some solutions.
- The windows shortcut keys to flip displays around are WINDOWS+SHIFT+ARROW KEY (L or R).
- You may have another shortcut key on your keyboard. FUNCTION+F4 is very common.
- If you have an onboard graphics card, you can enable that and use it to change the settings back on your NVIDIA other card.

I agree that it does look like a resolution issue at this stage. Perhaps if you connect the TV and the monitor and then select "extend these displays" in the Multiple Display drop downbox (in windows 7 display settings) or similar in your NVIdia settings, you can then extend to the TV. You will be able to adjust the settings individually on the TV and monitor. Once you find out what the TV it is happy with, you can then make it the primary display and select to use only that display in the multiple display settings.

RE: your question about it showing SVIDEO. I'm honestly not sure, having never set an SVIDEO connection in Win7 (just plenty in XP).... but I'm curious about this as well, now that I have learnt it from you
I suppose it would depend on whether or not Win7 recognizes the SVIDEO connection, which would then depend on your hardware and whether or not that is reported back to Windows 7. If the hardware is designed for win7 than you'd think that it'd know; but it's up to the manufacturer.

The TV should be ok, it's only a signal to SVIDEO in that format that matters and the TV supports it. The black and white and rolling reminds me of NTSC, PAL, or SECAM settings on the TV, try changing these. It seems like your graphics card is from a different zone to your TV.

RE: The Screen Size 680x480.... ah yep.... that is sort of common for older TV's. But for Movies this is quite workable
