    Monitor not being detected


    I am using a DVI-E port and I am using a VGA to DVI-E adapter with my monitor and I try enabling the monitor but it is not being detected so it dosen't enable it. It detects the DVI port but not the monitor.

    DVI-E? Had to look that one up. Any particular reason for using that over a normal VGA cable?

    Anyway after looking it up, a quick question. Do you have the receiver and transmitter adapters connected properly? Transmitter adapter on the computer and the receiver on the monitor.

    Does the DVI extender pass analog and digital? If it only passes digital thats why it wont work. VGA is analog and the DVI to VGA adapter only works if the DVI connector it is connected to is a DVI-I or DVI-A. The adapter doesn't convert digital to analog it just picks off the analog signal and feeds it to a VGA connector.

Hi all, Until earlier I was running 2 monitors a Samsung s22b300 (connected via HDMI) and a bush TV (connected via dvi to HDMI) this worked perfectly. I then purchased another Samsung s22d300 and connected this using display port to HDMI, now this monitor and my TV shows but my original Samsung...
Okay so i'm trying to use 2 monitors at the same time, with no luck. I've tried updating my drivers and some other stuff but it still won't work. I've enabled duel screens in my bios and tried manually detecting the monitor through CCC or screen resolution but it still only picks up one monitor.
