Incorrect sir. Half Life has never had AA and AF menus. HL2 does however.

So, I guess there is no automatic solution.
... You're kidding me, right?

Again, HL2 AA and AF settings are in the ingame advanced graphics menu and they also apply to HL2 mods.

Clear enough?

Crystal clear now Fumz. Yes, I know this. I even made this apparent in the post you quoted.

Thought I made it clear that I play both HL1 and HL2 based mods...

I know you want to find a way to have your HL settings apply when you start the game, and not have to hassle with selecting the profile, but that isn't possible... which does bite, but it's not so terrible. I suppose if you want to speed up the process you could always just assign a hotkey to enable your HL profile. It would beat opening up CCC.

HD 4850 won't take new Catalyst drivers
Hey all, I've got an older 4850 that's perpetually stuck with CCC 11.2 drivers. I had issues when I originally put it in where it wouldn't install drivers at all which required a boot into safe mode alongside driver sweeper and some deleting of mucked up files in a system folder. But now when I go...
Graphic Cards
Windows Drivers vs ATI Catalyst Drivers
Open question, discussion, and somewhat of a problem. I've recently been having various issues with my pc, among the things I tried to do was update my graphics card driver: found the newest driver crashed madly, and rolled back. It's brought to mind a simple question: What benefits are...

Catalyst 9.8 Drivers x32/x64 - Leaked
May I present to you (an otherwise, most excellent find, if you ignore the nay-sayer below) the Catalyst WHQL ATI 9.8 drivers in both x32 and x64 flavors. These feature great support for newer (and older games) and a much-needed interface improvement for the Catalyst Control Center. Enjoy. ;) ...
