ATI Catalyst Control Center wont open

I have the latest verion of the ATI CCC, it will not open, the first error message I recieved was that the GPU wasnt supported, downloaded all new drivers and software, after uninstalling the old ones, and now it wont open at all, looks like it will start but nothing happens. I checked the windows taskmanager and MOM.exe appears there but then disapperars almost immediatly. I bought the laptop from Samsung but they have proven to be of no help....any suggestions?

Welcome to Seven Forums Jmusgrave. Here's something to try. Open task manager ( Ctrl+Shift+Esc ). Click on fILE in top menu> New Task> type in MOM.exe (make sure MOM.exe is indeed not running at that time)> OK

See if that starts CCC, if not, we'll go further.

thanks A Guy, tried that already, MOM.exe appears but then disappears almost right away, also tried that with CLIStart.exe same result, i thought it might be a firewall issue so made sure that both were allowed, all no no avail.....really appreciate any help at all

OK, found this (your general problem is quite common! I have nVidia, so can't play w/ CCC myself):

    *********************************************************************
OK, so I was having the same problem everyone else is having with the drivers not installing and CCC not working, not the first time this has happened, seems like the Catalyst installer doesn't like updateing *****. But I fixed it and here is how I did it:

Note: I just tested this with Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 Ultimate and it also works this way.

First, run the Installer package and after it finishes unpacking the files, cancel the setup.

Go to your device manager and update the driver manually by locating the specific folder and finding the .INI file, i.e. "C:\ATI\Support\9-11_agp_hotfix_os_ccc_whatever\Packages\Drivers\Display\XP_INF\CX_91530.INI".

Now go to your add/remove programs and uninstall the ATI Catalyst Install Manager and have it remove all ATI software.

Reboot you PC and Run the newest CCC installer. Do the Custom install and not the Express install because you're going to uncheck everything but the CCC software. Then finish the install.

Like I said, this is how I did it and it worked for me. Results may be different for you, but this is another way you can try to get it working.

I don't know why people are uninstalling .Net and VC++ and everything else. This will NOT fix the problem! All you have to do is uninstall the older ATI software, reboot, and install the new software. This problem is occuring because the Catalyst Install Manager doesn't update the drivers and software correctly so it causes problems. The drivers can be installed manually through the device manager and then you can use the Catalyst Install Manager to install a fresh copy of CCC. (Catalyst Install Manager = Catalyst setup file you download, same s**t)

    Good luck. A Guy

Ok Guys neither worked, I alrady had the most updated drivers, and couldnt find the ini file you were talking about. I also tried several times to uninstall and reinstall the newest software right from ATI.com, it installs fine but the same issue as mentioned above occurs, CCC will not open, even trying to start in from the task manager or adding it to the startup progrma in tune up utilities doesnt make it start.....thanks in advance

Hmmm, so many 4350's are not doing well, I had to put a 4870 in a friends PC a few weeks back since his 4350 was giving his system fits, ended up getting a replacement under warranty. The system kept telling him no ATi products were installed. Download and run CCleaner and DriverSweeper then run them. Shut down the PC and boot it, then download version 10.3 of CCC and the driver and load it, I, and quite a few others, found 10.4 not as good and 10.5 quirky, 10.6 is running very well on my desktop but have not had time to stress it yet not feeling well the past couple of days.

If the other gentlemen are on the right track:

    CCC 10.3

    .net 4.0

I believe .net 2,1 will install with it but you should upgrade the framework to 4.0
