Use HDMI and DVI on same monitor.

I know that it's possible to use 2 inputs on the same monitor, as I have done iw tiwh DVI and VGA before. I want to hook up my Xbox 360 to the monitor via HDMI and my computer via DVI. Whenever I do this though, and try to switch between inputs using the button on the monitor, I don't get a signal. I'm just wondering if it's a limitation of my GTS 250. Any help is appreciated. Specs are below.

HDMI and DVI are both digital and your monitor probably is only able to switch between analog (VGA) and digital so you cannot switch between HDMI and DVI>>> That's my guess.

Hmm...yeah, that does make sense. If that's the case, it really sucks, but I guess I'll just have to live with switching the HDMI cord back and forth.

I believe a monitor that sees a signal from DVI wants to treat the HDMI as audio. We had up to 8 PC's (servers, work stations and PC's) hooked to one monitor through a switch, it had connections for 8 PC's video, keyboard and mouse, we simply pressed the button for which one we wanted. There are also 2 place switches for 1 monitor shared between 2 PC's but they use VGA so you would need a DVI to VGA adapter for the PC and an HDMI to VGA adapter for the Xbox and it will work.

Hmm, alright, well thanks for the info guys. Guess I'll just use the old unplug and replug method for now, until I can get a switch. Rep for ya both.
