You could also try and install the latest Windows 7100RC, instead of the one that you are running at the moment.

    Hey guys,

I would just like to say, silly silly silly ME!

I have found the solution, dont ask me why as I didnt have to do this with XP but if you compleatly shut down the laptop, make sure the vga cable is plugged into TV and Laptop, put TV in VGA mode then turn on the Laptop it just works! now I can watch streaming programs from internet on my LCD TV, nice.

I would like to say sorry for waisting your time and thanks very much for all your replys.

I will say though that if u just plug in the vga cable and do a connect to external monitor it doesnt detect the tv, the only way i got it to work was to shut down and do a cold restart...

    regards

I had a similar issue with an older laptop of mine, it wouldn't ever find external monitors unless I rebooted it. I believe that laptop was pretty old, but at least ya found a solution. Now ya just need to dedicate an extra machine to always be connected to yer tv, Media Center :)
