How do I output desktop to my TV?? Hi,
I would like to output the display from my laptop onto my LCD TV. I have done this before with no problem in xp. I had an icon bottom right of screen and could easily click output to crt. I don't seem to have any program installed that I can find to let me do this in Windows 7.
Device manager says graphics all ok but shows as "Standard VGA Adapter"
Drivermax also says I have the latest drivers?
any help much appreciated.
Regards

Hi Anthony,
I wish I knew what the graphics card was?
Everywhere I look it just says "standard VGA Adapter" I have a Hyrican NOT 00717 Model 8889 laptop. I have tried looking on the internet for a spec but as yet have not found one. Do you know of a program I can use that will tell me what the graphics card is?

Your integrated graphics are from viaarena... VIA Arena - Drivers Section
Try hitting start and typing in connect to a projector and if that doesn't work try connect to an external display... This will more than likely do what you want to do... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number fakeasdf (c) OS Win 7 Pro x64 x 3, Win 7 Pro x86, Ubuntu 9.04 CPU 2 x C2D E8600@3.33 Ghz, C2D T8300@2.4 ghz, P4 @ 3.0 ghz, Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Dynamic Energy S Memory 2x8 GB Corsair, 4GB Kingston, 2GB GSkill Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4670 1 GB DDR3, 2600 Pro, 2400 Pro, Intel 965 Sound Card I don't care... You could try here - Live Search Translator - Translate a web page (hyrican home page, translated)- to see if the drivers for ATI or nVidia work. You will need to run the exe files in compatability mode for vista to get them working. NOTE: If you don't know what the GFX card is: Even if you have the ATi and install the nVidia, the install will only go so far so you can actually try 1 then the other to see if they work. Additional: as fakeasdf stated try the connect to projector option but you can get to it also by right-clicking the desktop & choosing Screen Resolution and clicking Detect. Make sure the cable is connected to the LCD display. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Desktop OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU AMD Sempron Dual Core Memory 3GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 Screen Resolution 1024x768 Hard Drives 150GB Sata |

You could also try uninstalling the driver (See Pic) and Windows will re-detect the hardware & should connect to Windows Update to get the correct driver.

My guess is, he already has the Windows driver since he doesn't know what driver he has, meaning he probably didn't install it himself. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number fakeasdf (c) OS Win 7 Pro x64 x 3, Win 7 Pro x86, Ubuntu 9.04 CPU 2 x C2D E8600@3.33 Ghz, C2D T8300@2.4 ghz, P4 @ 3.0 ghz, Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Dynamic Energy S Memory 2x8 GB Corsair, 4GB Kingston, 2GB GSkill Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4670 1 GB DDR3, 2600 Pro, 2400 Pro, Intel 965 Sound Card I don't care...
