Windows 7: Sapphire HD 5770 ?

Just purchased Sapphire HD 5770 1Gig. I am running Windows 7 Pro and had a GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB running before this. I am busy playing BFBC2 right now. On the old card I had my setting of the game to medium now with the new card I have set it on high. I have also installed Direct X 11. The problem I am finding when I spawn into the game for the first time it freezes. After a short time it all comes right and I have no problems after that. Now this never happened on my old card?

Had a look at this thread but I am not running AVG and I never had any issue like this with my old card. As I say once I have spawned into a game for the first time it will happen all other spawns after that are ok

It's not specific to AVG. If you have any anti virus it could be the cause.

It's common with ATI card's or so I've heard.

Yes I have an anti virus but why did this not happen before on my old card

Who knows? The game is full of bugs and is poorly optimized. The new patch has some issues with anti virus software; issues aside from the one you have: BC2 + some Antivirus/Internet Security products: Server browser freezes - Electronic Arts UK Community
