Usally begins with a flicker or a bit lag, and then within 3 seconds after that the screen goes black, and after the screen goes black the notebook shuts down.
Happened with many games already.

some help will be greatly appriciated.

Im running games on a MIS GX740 notebook with a i5 CPU, and a ATI HD5870 graphics card (1gb ddr5 vram).
i got 4gigs of ddr3 ram.
newest ati video driver.

thanks :)

EDIT: i have a game called timeshift, and it lags terribly, even when the game should run normal on my PC. but i tried re-installing the game dead space today, and im experiencing the same lag. This sucks real heavy, because i played dead space before on the same notebook before it crashed some time ago, and it ran real smooth.
EDIT2: shit, split second does desame to me.

Could be a pooched cooling fan. Do you
have any other programs that require heavy
lifting by your cpu or graphics card. Avivo
Photoshop, that kind of thing. Run them and see
if one or both cause your laptop to shut down.

This sounds like it could be a heat issue ... download cupz and post your temps... Also make sure that you have good ventilation for your laptop...

I agree with Tews sounds like it could be heat related.
Wouldn't hurt to get some canned air and blow out the vents and fan, and if your going to use it for gaming a cooling pad would be a great investment. Take your time and research through what's avalible and maybe read some reviews to find one that would best suit your needs. Fabe

I guess you should stress your hardware by playing a game and then you should test the temperature od the CPU and the GPU.

If you haven't do so already, make sure your DX files are updated.

You might want to give my Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues a look....

5 - Update your Direct X files - Contrary to popular belief, just because Windows 7 is DX11 capable doesn’t mean it has the latest DX9 files!!! Most game issues can be fixed by simply updating the DX files
BTW I love Time Shift. Great game, no issues.

well study the time when it shuts down.Use program that tests temps, and than after half a minute see what temperatures are

HOLY SH*T!

If we didn't know it was a heat issue before, we do now!

I do want to check one more thing though:
Download and run FurMark. I bet it will crash the comp, but there is a temp monitor, so let us know the temps it reaches.

Well according to catalyst that aint a dangerous temperature yet...its orange, but not red.

alright here is the log file of GPU temperatures....
Began at about 70 degrees, ended up with 102 degrees, it didnt shut down so i quit.
http://www.mediafire.com/?w65p12vd23c9d4g

so whats the solution now...send it to msi repair center and wait 3 weeks to get it back?
or are there more options....

It is overheating in the extreme. You can open it up and blow it out with air if you want, or send it back and tell them the problem.
