Windows 7 hard disk problems
I have a Emachine Et1831-07
Running windows 7 (64 bit)
My pc started lagging out being slow , I reformated it twice
1st time I tried I attempted to keep all user info when the process was about to be completed I got a error message saying I had "syetem volume on diss currupt" try full reinstall.
I did a full install - from pre-installed recovery.
It was "working" or so I thought.... then it started again pc was being off now it was lagging out & freezen up. I tried to reboot - it went to "startup repair" - it said this may take over a hour - I waited 3-4 hour's then it hit me it frooze doing this... So I do a full reistall from disk.
My new message is "Windows detected a hard disk probelm "
"back up your files immediately to prevent info loss, and the contact the computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace"
I contacted emachines and since my pc is no longer under warrenty I got very little help...
What do I need to do I tried the Bartpe - pe builder but since i am running windows 7 I cannot use it. i didnt find any instrutions for dumbies...
Some help please but in lame man terms.
Thank you in advance

I think you need to address that hard drive issue first.
The first thing to do would be to run a hard disk diagnostic program. If you know the brand of hard disk you could get the diagnostic program made for their disks, but that will be difficult if you do not have a working W7. If you are comfortable inside a computer case you could remove the hard drive and read the brand off of it.
However I have found that this Hitachi "Drive Fitness Test" diagnostic disk works on most hard drives regardless of brand: Downloads . You download the ISO file, burn it to a CD, and then boot with the CD and the test will run.
Before you run that you want to check that the cable connections to the hard drive and the motherboard are not loose. Do this by simply unplugging them and re-plugging them to be sure they click all the way in. Use proper anti-static procedures inside your case.
Then run the test and tell us what the result is.
