    Printer keeps going offline

I have a HP C310a that frequently goes offline. This happens whether connected via USB or wireless. Not a big problem but takes time to correct. Hp support no help.
    Any ideas?

Answer #1 - two people confirmed by plugging the printer directly into an outlet instead of a surge protector, it would stay online. Crazy, but worth a try

Answer #2 - make sure you have the latest firmware installed. Note firmware is different from software.

    Try resetting the printer...

Support Menu : Button Sequence from Home/Idle Screen:
BL/TL/BR/TL. Press touchscreen button "Support Menu". [after power on]

    Found this:

I had a similar experience with HP online help. He had me push a different sequence of imaginary buttons (not the icons). Never could get to the engineering menu to do semi-full reset. He ended up telling me to return the printer. Instead, I went into the menu and set it to "restore factory defaults" and now the printer will come back "awake" even after extended periods of non use.
