Any new printers that use 2 ink cartridges? Looking for a new printer.
I am seeking a simple basic printer. That uses only 2 ink cartridges - BW and Color.
I used to use all Epson. But now all I see are 4 ink cartridges and printing stops when one ink cartridge is empty.
Any simple printers out there. Inkjet. All-in-One. Anything?
Anyone? | My System Specs |

I have an old HP deskjet 6122 using only 2 cartridges. Color and B&W. This model has been put in mothballs by HP but mine keeps right on printing.
Buy ink online from 101ink.com which will save you bundles
There are many out there so make a wise decision and stay within your budget. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP M9077c OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel(R)Core(TM)2 quad Q6600@2.4GHz 2.39GHz Motherboard ASUSeK Memory 6GB DDR2 6400 Graphics Card GeForce 8500/512MB Sound Card Realtek High Def Audio Monitor(s) Displays HP w2408 LCD 24" widescreen Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Keyboard MS wireless Inteli Mouse MS wireless Inteli Cooling 6 pack of Bud |

In my book, the 2 cartridge printers are an expensive deal when it comes to new cartridges. I have one of those and it costs me thru the nose whilst my other 4 printers that use 4 ot 6 individual cartridges are a lot cheaper to operate. The problem with the single color cartridge is that when that runs out of only 1 color, you have to replace it (which is expensive). The other colors may have lasted for a long time. But that will be wasted. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

If I were looking for a new Printer ... I'd be looking at the HP's ..
primarily because I've had good luck with them.
I would investigate which Cartridges they take .. And if the replacement cartiges are available in XL's.
The XL's cartridges print about 3-4 times as much for about twice the price ..
which also saves about 3 trips to get replacements.
Here's One for example .. Click on the Cartridges tab to see the choices...
Not that I'd buy them from HP | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP d4996t (upgraded) OS XP MCE .... XP Pro 64 .... Not too sure I would want to mess with a bunch of cartridges | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP d4996t (upgraded) OS XP MCE .... XP Pro 64 .... The problem with the ones with multiple cartridges is, once one runs dry, many printers will refuse to print until you get a new one. If you want to swing for a laser printer, my brother has one he uses all the time and has not had to replace the toner after 3-4 years of standard use. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba P775-S7100 OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5-2450M @2.5 GHz Memory 6 GB DDR3 1333MHz Graphics Card Intel HD 3000 Monitor(s) Displays Built-in 17.3" LED; 22" Insignia NS-L22Q-10A Screen Resolution 1600x900; 1360x768 Hard Drives 750 GB Hitachi

What about a color laser printer? There toner last a lot longer then those little ink cartridges. While you pay more upfront for a laser printer in the long run it is much cheaper to operate. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Alienware Aurora ALX R4 OS Windows 7 x64 (SP1) CPU Intel Core i7-3930K (3.2GHz, Turbo 4GHz) Motherboard Alienware Aurora-R4 x79 Memory 4x Samsung 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (16GB 1600MHz) Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce GTX 690 (Stock) Sound Card RealTek Integrated Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp U3011 Screen Resolution 2560x1600 Other Info Dell Inspiron Mini 10v (Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz; 1GB; Windows 7 Ultimate) |

When you buy a laser printer, make sure it can be remotely operated so that you can install it in a dedicated room. The fumes from a laser printer are pure poison. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 Any new printers that use 2 ink cartridges? problems?
