Trying to use a Canon CanosCan N340P in USB

    HI there people!!!!

Well, I've recently accyred a parallel to USB cable to conect my CanosCan N340P in my laptop... the problem is that the device is recognized as a "USB Printer compatibility" device instead of a whatever image device or something related... I?m trying to install this in XP mode, but the canon software says the scanner is not plugged in...

This scanner is a parallel port model, I had the hope that this parallel to USB cable would be able to work... but I had no luck

PLease people, I need your help!!! How can I get the scanner working on XP mode or in 7 using this cable?

    Thanks in advance

    See ya!!!

Check to see if the USB to Parrallel adapter you bought is IEEE1284 1994 compatible. This would mean the cable provides a bi-directional interface.

Yeah it already does have that standard... it supports bidirectional mode...

I tried... but didn't work... I cannot update the device.... well... at least I tried XD... some people says that is unsecure to use this type of cables because they rarely work on scanners or other printers...

I hope there is another solution... thanks for the help :)

    See ya!!!
