Would Windows 7 run on an old Dell Latitude C400?

My friend acquired an old Dell C400. I was suggesting that he put Windows 7 on it, but would that even run? I know I installed Windows 7 on my old Toshiba Satellite that is 8 years old.

Download details: Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

    Try this and be sure.

It probably would not be advisable.

I tried it on a D600 (next generation, 14.1" vs. the 12" on the 400 line), no drivers for some of the devices. It was a PAIN to get working and I never was able to get better than 800x400 on standard VGA graphics drivers.

It can be made to work, though it's not very easy. I found a thread with some steps you can take to get your Dell C400 to work with Windows 7. Hope it helps.

No. The minimum requirements reported by MS is 1GHz, and I've read reports by guys running it on an old ~600MHz Pentium 3 processor.

That might be their recommendation or something. Also, I run it on a 2.00GHz dual-core and it runs amazingly on it.
