Unable to connect PC to Media Extender

    Hi There,

I'm new to all this thing of forums etc, but am losing the will to live! Have got a Linksys DMA2100 which originally worked fine with W7, but then about 3 months ago I couldn't connect the DMA to the PC. The router see's it fine but just won't connect. While trying to re-install DMA software a window apeared saying 'msiexec.exe entry point not found' 'The procedure entry point DwmHintDxUpdate could not be locatedin the dynamic link library USER32.dll'

Be grateful for any advice, have even tried downloading Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, which I'd seen on some other forum as a possible fix.

    Help!

    Welcome to Sevenforums.

I have a DMA2100, and I don't recall having to install anything from its' setup pack. The usual hiccup with these things is that sometimes updates can mess with the extender info in Media Center.

A possible fix would be to start the DMA2100 and go to the setup screen and find the 8 digit code for the extender. Then go to your PC and open MC. Go to setup extender and make sure that the 8 digit code is the same. If it isn't, enter the code that you saw on the TV into MC.

Give that a try and post back with the results. Also, please fill out your system specs so that we know what kind of hardware you have. It makes it easier to help out. :)
