    Can't Read From Disk error

Ok well I made a DVD of all my most important stuff the other day, and thank god i did because my PC crashed the next day lol. I just reinstalled windows 7 64 bit , I installed all the updates. But when I go to get stuff off my DVD it won't let me it says "Can't read from disk", even though I was able to get stuff off it fine the other day.

We need a bunch more info. what app did you burn the cd with. Have you tried booting into safe mode (F8) to see if the problem continues? system specs?

I can't remember what program I used . It worked fine last time so that shouldnt matter. It's burnt as a data disk.

Press the button that says "System specs" to see my system specs

Reboot and test the disc again, see if explorer is showing it's label (assuming you gave it one), if it doesn't then try another disc... if all fail.... cable loose? tray button to open it work?

All that seems fine, try that disc on another PC, there are utils for reading bad discs, but I doubt it's coming to that.

Explorer does show me everything on the disks, not just the folder names I can actually see all the right files in them. Everything is good on the disc , but when I go to copy the files some of the files say "can't read from disk" and then some of them will actually transfer, but so slow its insane. I've been transferring a 300 MB folder of my pictures for about 3 hours now , its only going 10 kb a sec lol

I have 4 GB of ddr2 ram and a intel q6600 qaud core cpu , it shouldn't take 3 hours to move 300 mb lol. My cpu and ram performance are at normal levels too.

Not unless you bought a packet of discs for $5 that are useless for burning. And then you wonder why it won't read?
